ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: What may seem to be an ordinary diamond with a slightly unusual color description, turns out to be one of the most rare diamonds of all!! This is a GIA certified 2.30 carat, oval-cut, CHAMELEON diamond. Its color is identified as natural fancy grayish, yellowish, green. It has great inner fire and is a light-colored green that resembles a sage green. This diamond measures approximately 10mm x 7mm x 4.35mm and has a polished and faceted girdle. Chameleon diamonds are natural fancy colored diamonds with an ability to change color under specific conditions. They have mystified gemologists since they were first discovered. Why they temporarily change colors is yet to be discovered. The leading authority, GIA, states, "What makes chameleon diamonds so mysterious is that the reason for their color change is unknown." "Chameleon diamonds change color when exposed to light or heat, and there is more than one (factor) causing the phenomena. They are so RARE AND VALUABLE, researchers have found it difficult to procure samples to study."
